1 Thessalonians

ALT(i) 1 Paul and Silvanus and Timothy, To the assembly [or, church] of [the] Thessalonians in God [the] Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to youp and peace from God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ! 2 We give thanks to God always concerning youp all, making mention of youp in our prayers, 3 constantly remembering yourp work of faith and labor of love and patient endurance in the hope [or, confident expectation] of our Lord Jesus Christ, in [the] presence of our God and Father, 4 knowing brothers [and sisters], having been loved by God, yourp election [or, [God's] choosing of youp]. 5 Because our Gospel did not come to youp in word only, but also in power and in [the] Holy Spirit and in much assurance [or, with full conviction], even as youp know of what sort we became among youp for yourp sake. 6 And youp became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction [or, during a great trial], with [the] joy of [the] Holy Spirit, 7 with the result that youp became examples to all the ones believing in Macedonia and Achaia. 8 For the word of the Lord has sounded forth from youp, not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place yourp faith toward God has gone out, with the result that we have no need to be saying anything. 9 For they themselves report about us what kind of entrance we had to youp, and how youp turned to God from the idols, to be serving as a slave to [the] living and true God, 10 and to be waiting expectantly for His Son from the heavens, whom He raised from the dead— Jesus— the One rescuing us from the coming wrath.
