Zechariah 7 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came to Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;

1 H1961 And it came H702 to pass in the fourth H8141 year H4428 of king H1867 Darius, H1697 that the word H3068 of the LORD H1961 came H2148 to Zechariah H702 in the fourth H8671 day of the ninth H2320 month, H3691 even in Chisleu;

2 H7971 When they had sent H1008 to the house H1008 of God H8272 Sherezer H7278 and Regemmelech, H582 and their men, H2470 to pray H854 before H6440 H3068 the LORD,

3 H559 And to speak H3548 to the priests H834 which H1004 were in the house H3068 of the LORD H6635 of hosts, H5030 and to the prophets, H559 saying, H1058 Should I weep H2549 in the fifth H2320 month, H5144 separating H6213 myself, as I have done H2088 these H8141 so many years?

4 H1961 Then came H1697 the word H3068 of the LORD H6635 of hosts H559 to me, saying,

5 H559 Speak H3605 to all H5971 the people H776 of the land, H3548 and to the priests, H559 saying, H3588 When H6684 you fasted H5594 and mourned H2549 in the fifth H7637 and seventh H2088 month, even those H7657 seventy H8141 years, H6684 did you at all fast to me, even to me?

6 H3588 And when H398 you did eat, H3588 and when H8354 you did drink, H398 did not you eat H8354 for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

7 H1697 Should you not hear the words H834 which H3068 the LORD H7121 has cried H7223 by the former H5030 prophets, H3389 when Jerusalem H3427 was inhabited H7961 and in prosperity, H5892 and the cities H5439 thereof round H3427 about her, when men inhabited H5045 the south H8219 and the plain?

8 H1697 And the word H3068 of the LORD H1961 came H2148 to Zechariah, H559 saying,

9 H3541 Thus H559 speaks H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts, H559 saying, H8199 Execute H571 true H4941 judgment, H6213 and show H2617 mercy H7356 and compassions H376 every man H251 to his brother:

10 H6231 And oppress H490 not the widow, H3490 nor the fatherless, H1616 the stranger, H6041 nor the poor; H408 and let none H2803 of you imagine H7451 evil H251 against his brother H3824 in your heart.

11 H3985 But they refused H7181 to listen, H5414 and pulled H3802 away the shoulder, H3513 and stopped H241 their ears, H8085 that they should not hear.

12 H7760 Yes, they made H3820 their hearts H8068 as an adamant H8068 stone, H6435 lest H8085 they should hear H8451 the law, H1697 and the words H834 which H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts H7971 has sent H7307 in his spirit H7223 by the former H5030 prophets: H1961 therefore came H1419 a great H7110 wrath H3068 from the LORD H6635 of hosts.

13 H1961 Therefore it is come H7121 to pass, that as he cried, H8085 and they would not hear; H3651 so H7121 they cried, H8085 and I would not hear, H559 said H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts:

14 H5590 But I scattered them with a whirlwind H5921 among H3605 all H1471 the nations H834 whom H3045 they knew H776 not. Thus the land H8074 was desolate H310 after H5674 them, that no man passed H7725 through nor returned: H7760 for they laid H2532 the pleasant H776 land H8047 desolate.
