Hosea 1 The word of the LORD that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

2 H8462 The beginning H1697 of the word H3068 of the LORD H1954 by Hosea. H3068 And the LORD H559 said H1954 to Hosea, H3212 Go, H3947 take H802 to you a wife H2183 of prostitutions H3206 and children H2183 of prostitutions: H776 for the land H2181 has committed H2181 great prostitution, H3068 departing from the LORD.

3 H3212 So he went H3947 and took H1586 Gomer H1323 the daughter H1691 of Diblaim; H2029 which conceived, H3205 and bore H1121 him a son.

4 H3068 And the LORD H559 said H7121 to him, Call H8034 his name H3157 Jezreel; H5750 for yet H4592 a little H6485 while, and I will avenge H1818 the blood H3157 of Jezreel H1004 on the house H3058 of Jehu, H7673 and will cause to cease H4468 the kingdom H1004 of the house H3478 of Israel.
