Luke 21:7-19 And they asked him, saying: Teacher, when therefore will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to come to pass?

ABU⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁷ And they asked him, saying: Teacher, when therefore will these things be, and what will be the sign when these things are about to come to pass? ⁸ And he said: Take heed that ye be not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying: I am he, and the time is at hand. Go not after them. ⁹ And when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified; for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not immediately. ¹⁰ Then said he to them: Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; ¹¹ and there will be great earthquakes, and in divers places famines and pestilences; and there will be great portents and signs from heaven. ¹² And before all these, they will lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up into synagogues and prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. ¹³ And it shall turn out to you for a testimony. ¹⁴ Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer. ¹⁵ For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay or withstand. ¹⁶ And ye will be delivered up both by parents, and brothers, and kindred, and friends; and some of you they will cause to be put to death. ¹⁷ And ye will be hated by all for my name's sake. ¹⁸ And there shall not a hair of your head perish. ¹⁹ In your patience possess your souls.
