Jeremiah 36 And in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, came to pass the word of the lord to me, saying,

2 G2983 Take G4572 to yourself G5489 a papyrus leaf G975 scroll! G2532 and G1125 write G1909 upon G1473 it! G3956 all G3588 the G3056 words G3739 which G2980 I spoke G4314 to G1473 you G1909 against G* Israel, G2532 and G1909 against G* Judah, G2532 and G1909 against G3956 all G3588 the G1484 nations G575 from G3739 which G2250 day G2980 I spoke G4314 to G1473 you, G575 from G2250 the days G* of Josiah G935 king G* of Judah, G2532 and G2193 unto G3588 G2250 this day. G3778

3 G2481 Perhaps G191 [⁴will hear G3588 ¹the G3624 ²house G* ³of Judah] G3956 all G3588 the G2556 bad things G3739 which G1473 I G3049 devise G4160 to do G1473 to them; G2443 that G654 they should turn G575 from G3598 [³way G1473 ¹their G3588 G4190 ²wicked]; G2532 and G2436 I will be propitious G1510.8.1 G3588 to G93 their iniquities, G1473 G2532 and G3588 to G266 their sins. G1473

4 G2532 And G2564 Jeremiah called G* G3588 G* Baruch G5207 son G* of Neriah. G2532 And G1125 Baruch wrote G* G575 from G4750 the mouth G* of Jeremiah G3956 all G3588 the G3056 words G2962 of the lord G3739 of which G5537 he gave a divine message G4314 to G1473 him G1519 on G5489.1 a papyrus paper G975 scroll.

5 G2532 And G1781 Jeremiah gave charge G* G3588 to G* Baruch, G3004 saying, G1473 I G5442 am guarded, G2532 and G3756 I am not able G1410 G1525 to enter G1519 into G3624 the house G2962 of the lord .

6 G2532 And G1473 you G1525 shall enter, G2532 and G314 shall read G1722 with G3588 G5489.1 this papyrus paper scroll G3778 G1519 into G3588 the G3775 ears G3588 of the G2992 people G1722 in G3624 the house G2962 of the lord G1722 in G2250 the day G3521 of the fast. G2532 And G1519 in G3588 the G3775 ears G3956 of all G* Judah, G3588 of the ones G2064 coming G1537 from out of G4172 their cities, G1473 G314 you shall read G1473 to them.

7 G2481 Perhaps G4098 [²will fall G1656 ¹their need for mercy] G1473 G2596 in front of G4383 G2962 the lord, G2532 and G654 they will turn G575 from G3588 G3598 [³way G1473 ¹their G3588 G4190 ²evil]. G3754 For G3173 great G3588 is the G2372 rage G2532 and G3588 the G3709 anger G2962 of the lord G3739 which G2980 he spoke G1909 against G3588 G2992 this people. G3778

8 G2532 And G4160 [⁴did G* ¹Baruch G5207 ²son G* ³of Neriah] G2596 according to G3956 all G3739 which G1781 [²gave charge to him G1473 G* ¹Jeremiah], G3588 G314 to read G1722 in G3588 the G975 scroll G3588 the G3056 words G2962 of the lord G1722 in G3624 the house G2962 of the lord .

9 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G1722 in G3588 the G2094 [²year G3991 ¹fifth] G* of Jehoiakim G5207 son G* of Josiah G935 king G* of Judah, G1722 in G3588 the G3376 [²month G3588 G1766 ¹ninth], G1826.1 they held an assembly G3521 fast G2596 in front of G4383 G2962 the lord, G3956 all G3588 the G2992 people G* of Jerusalem, G2532 and G3624 the house G* of Judah.

10 G2532 And G314 Baruch read G* G1722 in G3588 the G975 scroll G3588 the G3056 words G* of Jeremiah G1722 in G3624 the house G2962 of the lord, G1722 in G3624 the house G* of Gemariah G5207 son G* of Shaphan G3588 the G1122 scribe, G1722 in G3588 the G833 [²courtyard G3588 G1883 ¹upper], G1722 in G4290.1 the thresholds G4439 [³gate G3588 ⁴of the G3624 ⁵house G2962 ⁶ of the lord G3588 ¹of the G2537 ²new], G1722 in G3775 the ears G3956 of all G3588 the G2992 people.

11 G2532 And G191 [⁶heard G* ¹Micaiah G5207 ²son G* ³of Gemariah G5207 ⁴son G* ⁵of Shaphan] G3956 all G3588 the G3056 words G2962 of the lord G1537 from out of G3588 the G975 scroll.

12 G2532 And G2597 he went down G1519 unto G3624 the house G3588 of the G935 king, G1519 unto G3588 the G3624 house G3588 of the G1122 scribe. G2532 And G2400 behold, G1563 there G3956 all G3588 the G758 rulers G2521 sat -- G* Elishama G3588 the G1122 scribe, G2532 and G* Delaiah G5207 son G* of Shemaiah, G2532 and G* Elnathan G5207 son G* of Achbor, G2532 and G* Gemariah G5207 son G* of Shaphan, G2532 and G* Zedekiah G5207 son G* of Hananiah, G2532 and G3956 all G3588 the G758 rulers.

13 G2532 And G312 [²announced G1473 ³to them G* ¹Michaiah] G3956 all G3588 the G3056 words G3739 which G191 he heard G314 [²reading G3588 G* ¹Baruch] G1722 in G975 the scroll, G1519 in G3588 the G3775 ears G3588 of the G2992 people.

14 G2532 And G649 [⁴sent G3956 ¹all G3588 ²the G758 ³rulers] G4314 to G* Baruch, G5207 son G* of Neriah, G3588 the son of G* Jehudi, G5207 son G* of Nethaniah, G5207 son G* of Shelemiah, G5207 son G* of Cushi, G3004 saying, G3588 The G975 scroll G1722 in G3739 which G1473 you G314 read G1722 by G1473 it G1519 into G3588 the G3775 ears G3588 of the G2992 people, G2983 take G1473 it G1519 into G3588 G5495 your hand G1473 G2532 and G2240 come! G2532 And G2983 [⁴took G* ¹Baruch G5207 ²son G* ³of Neriah] G3588 the G975 scroll G1722 in G3588 G5495 his hand, G1473 G2532 and G2597 went down G4314 to G1473 them.

15 G2532 And G2036 they said G1473 to him, G3825 Again G314 read G1519 for G3588 G3775 our ears! G1473 G2532 And G314 Baruch read G* G1519 in G3588 G3775 their ears. G1473

16 G2532 And G1096 it happened G5613 as G191 they heard G3956 all G3588 the G3056 words, G4823 [²gave advice G1538 ¹each] G4314 to G3588 G4139 his neighbor, G1473 G2532 and G2036 they said G4314 to G3588 G* Baruch, G312 By announcing, G312 we should announce G3588 to the G935 king G3956 all G3588 G3056 these words. G3778

17 G2532 And G3588 G* they asked Baruch, G2065 G3004 saying, G4159 From what place G1125 did you write G3956 all G3588 G3056 these words? G3778

18 G2532 And G2036 Baruch said, G* G575 From G4750 the mouth G* of Jeremiah. G312 He announced G1473 to me G3956 all G3588 G3056 these words, G3778 G2532 and G1125 I wrote G1909 upon G975 a scroll.

19 G2532 And G2036 [³said G3588 ¹the G758 ²rulers] G3588 to G* Baruch, G897.2 Proceed G2532 and G2633.1 be hid, G1473 you G2532 and G* Jeremiah! G444 Let not a man G3361 G1097 know G4226 where G1473 you are!

20 G2532 And G1525 they entered G4314 to G3588 the G935 king, G1519 into G3588 the G833 courtyard, G2532 and G3588 [²the G975 ³scroll G1325 ¹they put] G5442 to guard G1722 in G3624 the house G* of Elishama G3588 the G1122 scribe. G2532 And G312 they announced G3588 to the G935 king G3956 all G3588 G3056 these words. G3778

21 G2532 And G649 [³sent G3588 ¹the G935 ²king] G3588 G* Jehudi G2983 to take G3588 the G975 scroll. G2532 And G2983 he took G1473 it G1537 from out of G3624 the house G* of Elishama G3588 the G1122 scribe, G2532 and G314 Jehudi read G* G1519 in G3588 the G3775 ears G3588 of the G935 king, G2532 and G1519 in G3588 the G3775 ears G3956 of all G3588 the G758 rulers G3588 G2476 sitting G4012 around G3588 the G935 king.

22 G2532 And G3588 the G935 king G2521 was sitting G1722 in G3624 [²house G5493.1 ¹ the winter] G1722 in G3376 [²month G1766 ¹ the ninth], G2532 with G2077.1 a grate G4442 of fire G2596 in front G4383 G1473 of him.

23 G2532 And G1096 it came to pass G314 Jehudi having read G* G5140 three G4583.1 columns G2532 or G5064 four, G658.1 he shred G1473 them G3588 with the G3587.2 razor G3588 of the G1122 scribe, G2532 and G4495 tossed G1519 into G3588 the G4442 fire, G3588 the one G1909 upon G3588 the G2077.1 grate, G2193 until G1587 [⁴vanished G3956 ¹all G3588 ²the G5489 ³papyrus leaf] G1519 in G3588 the G4442 fire, G3588 the one G1909 upon G3588 the G2077.1 grate.

24 G2532 And G3756 they were not amazed, G1839 G2532 and G3756 they tore not G1284 G3588 G2440 their garments -- G1473 G3588 the G935 king G2532 and G3956 all G3588 G3816 his servants, G1473 G3588 the ones G191 hearing G3956 all G3588 G3056 these words. G3778

25 G2532 And G* Elnathan G2532 and G* Delaiah G2532 and G* Gemariah G5294 suggested G3588 to the G935 king G4314 to G3588 G3361 not G2618 incinerate G3588 the G5489.1 papyrus paper.

26 G2532 And G3756 he did not hearken to G191 G1473 them. G2532 And G1781 [³gave charge G3588 ¹the G935 ²king] G3588 to G* Jerahmeel G5207 son G3588 of the G935 king, G2532 and G3588 to G* Saraiah G5207 son G* of Azriel, G2532 and G* Shelemiah G5207 son G* of Abdeel, G4815 to seize G3588 G* Baruch G3588 the G1122 scribe, G2532 and G3588 G* Jeremiah G3588 the G4396 prophet -- G2532 and G2633.1 they were hidden.

27 G2532 And G1096 came to pass G3056 the word G2962 of the lord G4314 to G* Jeremiah, G3326 after G3588 the G2618 [²incinerating G3588 G935 ¹king] G3588 the G5489.1 papyrus paper G3956 with all G3588 the G3056 words G3739 which G1125 Baruch wrote G* G575 from G4750 the mouth G* of Jeremiah, G3004 saying,

28 G3825 Again G2983 take G1473 to yourself G5489.1 [²papyrus paper scroll G2087 ¹another], G2532 and G1125 write G537 all G3588 the G3056 words G3588 G1510.6 being G1909 on G3588 the G5489.1 papyrus paper scroll G3739 which G2618 [³incinerated G3588 G935 ¹king G* ²Jehoaikim]!

29 G2532 And G4314 to G* Jehoaikim, G3588 the G935 king G* of Judah, G2046 you shall say, G3779 Thus G2036 said G2962 the lord, G1473 You G2618 incinerated G3588 G975 this scroll, G3778 G3004 saying, G1302 Why G1125 did you write G1909 upon G1473 it, G3004 saying, G1531 In entering G1525 [³shall enter G935 ¹ the king G* ²of Babylon], G2532 and G1842 shall utterly destroy G3588 G1093 this land, G3778 G2532 and G1625.3 he shall obliterate G575 from G1473 it G444 man G2532 and G2934 beast.

30 G1223 On account of G3778 this G3779 thus G2036 said G2962 the lord G1909 against G* Jehoiakim G935 king G* of Judah, G3756 There will not G1510.8.3 be G1473 to him G2521 one sitting down G1909 upon G2362 the throne G* of David; G2532 and G3588 G2347.1 his decaying flesh G1473 G1510.8.3 will be G4495 for tossing G1722 in G3588 the G2738 sweltering heat G3588 of the G2250 day, G2532 and G1722 in G3588 the G3801.1 icy coldness G3588 of the G3571 night.

31 G2532 And G1980 I will visit G1909 against G1473 him, G2532 and G1909 against G3588 G1085 his family, G1473 G2532 and G1909 against G3588 G3816 his children G1473 G3588 G458 their lawlessnesses. G1473 G2532 And G1863 I will bring G1909 upon G1473 them, G2532 and G1909 upon G3588 the ones G2730 dwelling G* in Jerusalem, G2532 and G1909 upon G1093 the land G* of Judah, G3956 all G3588 the G2556 evils G3739 which G2980 I spoke G4314 to G1473 them; G2532 and G3756 they heard not. G191

32 G2532 And G2983 Jeremiah took G* G5489.1 [²papyrus paper scroll G2087 ¹another], G2532 and G1325 he gave G1473 it G3588 to G* Baruch G5207 son G* of Neriah G3588 the G1122 scribe. G2532 And G1125 he wrote G1909 upon G1473 it G575 from G4750 the mouth G* of Jeremiah G537 all G3588 the G3056 words G3588 of the G975 scroll G3739 which G2618 [⁴incinerated G* ¹Jehoiakim G935 ²king G* ³of Judah] G4442 in fire, G2532 and G2089 still G4369 were added G1473 to it G3056 [²words G4183 ¹many] G5613 as G3778 these.
