Geneva(i) 1 A Psalme or song of the dedication of the house of David. I will magnifie thee, O Lord: for thou hast exalted mee, and hast not made my foe to reioyce ouer me. 2 O Lord my God, I cried vnto thee, and thou hast restored me. 3 O Lord, thou hast brought vp my soule out of the graue: thou hast reuiued me from them that goe downe into the pit. 4 Sing praises vnto the Lord, ye his Saintes, and giue thankes before the remembrance of his Holinesse. 5 For he endureth but a while in his anger: but in his fauour is life: weeping may abide at euening, but ioy commeth in the morning. 6 And in my prosperitie I sayde, I shall neuer be moued. 7 For thou Lord of thy goodnes hadest made my mountaine to stande strong: but thou didest hide thy face, and I was troubled. 8 Then cried I vnto thee, O Lord, and praied to my Lord. 9 What profite is there in my blood, when I go downe to the pit? shall the dust giue thankes vnto thee? or shall it declare thy trueth? 10 Heare, O Lord, and haue mercy vpon me: Lord, be thou mine helper. 11 Thou hast turned my mourning into ioy: thou hast loosed my sacke and girded mee with gladnesse. 12 Therefore shall my tongue praise thee and not cease: O Lord my God, I will giue thankes vnto thee for euer.
Bishops(i) 1 I wyll exalt thee O God, for thou hast exalted me: and hast not made my foes to triumph ouer me 2 O God my Lord I cryed vnto thee: and thou hast healed me 3 Thou God hast raysed vp my soule from the graue: thou hast preserued my life from them that go downe into ye pit 4 Sing psalmes vnto god ye his saintes: and make your confession vnto the remembraunce of his holynes 5 For a litle short time [passeth] in his anger, a life is [spente] in his good wyll: at euening weeping shall begin the night, but ioy commeth in the morning 6 (30:6a) And in my prosperitie I saide, I shall neuer haue a fal 7 (30:6b) thou God of thy goodnes hadst made my hyll so strong 8 (30:7) [Neuerthelesse, when] thou dydst turne thy face, I was troubled: [then] I cryed vnto thee O God, then made I my humble prayers to thee my Lorde 9 (30:8) [Saying] what profite is there in my blood when I go downe to the pit? shal the dust geue thankes vnto thee? or shall it declare thy trueth 10 (30:9) Heare me O God, and haue mercy vppon me: O God be thou my helper 11 (30:10) [And foorthwith] thou hast turned my mourning into dauncing: thou hast put of my sackcloth, and gyrded me with gladnes 12 (30:11) Therfore my glory shal sing psalmes vnto thee and not ceasse: O God my Lorde I wyll prayse thee for euer

YLT(i) 1 A Psalm. --A song of the dedication of the house of David. I exalt Thee, O Jehovah, For Thou hast drawn me up, and hast not let mine enemies rejoice over me. 2 Jehovah my God, I have cried to Thee, And Thou dost heal me. 3 Jehovah, Thou hast brought up from Sheol my soul, Thou hast kept me alive, From going down to the pit. 4 Sing praise to Jehovah, ye His saints, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness, 5 For--a moment is in His anger, Life is in His good-will, At even remaineth weeping, and at morn singing.
6 And I--I have said in mine ease, `I am not moved--to the age. 7 O Jehovah, in Thy good pleasure, Thou hast caused strength to remain for my mountain,' Thou hast hidden Thy face--I have been troubled. 8 Unto Thee, O Jehovah, I call, And unto Jehovah I make supplication. 9 `What gain is in my blood? In my going down unto corruption? Doth dust thank Thee? doth it declare Thy truth? 10 Hear, O Jehovah, and favour me, O Jehovah, be a helper to me.' 11 Thou hast turned my mourning to dancing for me, Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, And girdest me with joy. 12 So that honour doth praise Thee, and is not silent, O Jehovah, my God, to the age I thank Thee!
ASV(i) 1 I will extol thee, O Jehovah; for thou hast raised me up, And hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. 2 O Jehovah my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. 3 O Jehovah, thou hast brought up my soul from Sheol; Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4 Sing praise unto Jehovah, O ye saints of his, And give thanks to his holy memorial name. 5 For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a life-time: Weeping may tarry for the night, But joy cometh in the morning. 6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, I shall never be moved. 7 Thou, Jehovah, of thy favor hadst made my mountain to stand strong: Thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled. 8 I cried to thee, O Jehovah; And unto Jehovah I made supplication: 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? 10 Hear, O Jehovah, and have mercy upon me: Jehovah, be thou my helper. 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. Psalm 31 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
